Agostino Steffani's Niobe in concert version from Boston Early Music Festival's recording sojourn in Bremen -- no groovy feather hats or sparkly glo-swords, then, but Amanda Forsythe and Philippe Jaroussky? That's a deal...and, hey wait, Karina Gauvin?! Eyebrows raised about bumping Forsythe down to the role of Manto, but we can certainly call the result luxury casting.
