  1. I just took a walk up there on Google Maps and really like some of the architecture.

    1. Nobody does Italianate NeoGothic Victorian Art Deco Brutalism like us!

    2. Oh wait, did you go north on pearl or south?

  2. North. Seemed to end up in a car park.

    1. I don't think I've ever been that far north on that road. I always assumed it petered out somewhere in the wilds of Darkest Watervliet.

Next time you're in town (lol), head south to State St. Turn left down the hill to see Walt Disney's Nightmare. Turn right up the hill to see War of the Worlds Plaza, Gotham City Hall, and the Austro-Hungarian Empire State Building.

  3. Phew. Just walked the length of State Street and was stuck, not only by the architectural delights you mention, but also by the number of Victorian churches.

    1. Oh yeah, we got lots. It's the benefit of being a Backwater of Power these days, there's enough money to (sort of) maintain (some) things, but not enough to go hog wild on grand urban redevelopment schemes.
