Catone Approximately Thirty Miles Southeast of Utica (As the Crow Flies)

Wasting no time whatsoever, Glimmerglass has announced its 2015 (and 40th anniversary) program here. Psyched for the return of baroque opera, the return of Eric Owens, the return of Melody Moore, and the return of John Conklin. Also psyched for the opportunity to hear more from Jacqueline Echols, and reasonably enthused for the idea of getting The Magic Flute lost in the woods.

  1. That looks worth braving an encounter with the Department of Homeland Grumpiness for. A native American Flute is not a new idea though. Vancouver did a Coast Salish themed one with the libretto in English and hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓

    1. I wouldn't imagine it's a new thing, though if they were following suit using Mohegan would present some particular challenges.

    2. I don't think hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ was easy! I know the Pamina and QotN who sang in that one.

    3. Oh sorry, I wasn't suggesting it was easy, just that iirc Mohegan was technically dead for a few decades and is now in the process of reconstruction.
