coming down the Pike

Broadcasts of the Monteverdi operas from last June's Boston Early Music Festival take up WCRB's Sunday Night Opera program for three Sundays in September, schedule as follows:

September 13: Orfeo

September 20: Ulisse

September 27: Poppea

I'm guessing those will be about 8pm ET. WCRB's livestream is accessible here.

    1. Yeah, I somehow have to manage not to flake on all these things. Perhaps a tattoo in the shape of a calendar...

    6. Nah, Solamente's the one on 10/16 I think. (10/2 is Emma Kirkby, I'm missing that one too.) Then the Envoy is coming over for Acis & G on 11/29. Those are the definite ones, with ASvO also a possibility.

    8. Solamente was great, all Eastern European trad tunes + Telemann, three standing o's, three encores :)

I will be there for Vivaldi, barring disaster.

I just saw that Amanda Forsythe notice on Twitter, Cambridge date is the 20th and it's their CD release party. I'm guessing that will sell out in four or five seconds :) They're also down at Vassar on the 22nd, I might try to get to that one if Cambridge is beyond reach.

I think I have to post all these videos now LOL

      Welcome back from Hades!

    1. As unrelated things go, that's a pretty good one. I should revisit Rückert Lieder one of these days, haven't heard it in ages.
