Ann Hallenberg from Amsterdam with Il Pomo d'Oro next Saturday, August 20, at whatever 19:00 CEST converts to for your locality (1pm ET here), on Netherlands Radio 4.
UPDATE: R4 says 21:20 for AH
Aahh! Thanks! I was trying to watch it live on NL2 but the stream kept buffering. Plus the audience shots were kind of a buzzkill -- lots of somewhat bemused people w/o much idea of what they were hearing. I kept thinking What a waste, that audience should be us! :)
all in the name of public accessibility! i'm a huge fan of that :-) (some of those photos of the audience is truly lovely.. woaooooh i miss such open space thing here...) . And i'm sure Ann gathered quite a few fans afterward. It's coming out of microphone anyhow.. and i think each year they brought in a classical music singer (though this is the first time baroque orchestra) -- i remember V.Kasarova sang there, i think in 2003, and part of her program was also baroque (Gluck's Orphee, some Handel as well..) so i'm sure the audience has good general sense. Fingers cross the whole program will pop up on tube.
slightly off topic, raving review by Agathe on Vivica Genaux's singing and portrayal of Romeo yesterday at Bremen music festival.. i should look into her Romeo cd with Biondi! :-) https://aniklachev.wordpress.com/2016/08/19/the-fenice-juditha-triumphans-2015-liveblogging-thread/#comment-52307
oh, you didn't know she has a Capuleti Montecchi cd released with Europa Galante? i'm quite curious actually b/c i *love* their takes on things in general :-) , and she has a fantastic relationship with Biondi
Nah, I don't follow recordings much anymore, since the demise of bricks n' mortar record stores. Guess I'll have to look that up and give Arkiv some business :)
argh, woke up waaaay too late.. did you have a chance to listen?

DeleteYah sure, I guess I'm just of a mind to be cranky about people looking faintly bored in the presence of a wicked excellent mezzo.

Huh, Europa Galante, didn't know they did stuff that late. And of course they can manage to broadcast some of the festival, but not that part :-/
