noise histrionics scribbling
"Freedom Come All Ye" performed by Karine Polwart in The Italian Chapel, Orkney August 2013. from Andy Crabb on Vimeo.
I love that song. I used to know people who had known John Maclean, notably Annie Maxton.
Which is a daft non sequitur as I am confusing two Henderson songs
I can see why you'd think so but you aren't, because HH cleverly sneaks him into the last verse ("When Maclean meets wi' his friends in Springburn...").Annie Maxton was a generation or so down the line, wasn't she?
Annie was Jimmy's brother and he was only six years older than Maclean. She was still alive c. 1980 though, obviously, very old at that point.
