If you've burned out on
Messiah season but are still jonesing for some Handel oratorio action, for a small and modest fee (5 euros) Sonostream.tv has
Saul on demand from this past summer's Glyndebourne run, directed by Barry Kosky, with Christopher Purves, Iestyn Davies, Lucy Crowe, Sophie Bevan, and Paul Appleby.
Michelle E also mentioned this, so I have it bookmarked. I hope there will be no IP restrictions shenanigans. I once tried to pay to watch a film on the BFI channel and it warned me "Yeah we'll process your credit card payment, but you know you can only watch our films from a British IP address, right".
ReplyDeleteWhoever sees this first, report back.
Always a consideration. Glyndebourne's other (previous?) online venue, Digital Theatre, doesn't geoblock...or at least not the three things I've rented from them. Will try to shoehorn this into the schedule this weekend, if I don't succumb to the temptation to go hear LDDL in house.
Deleteno no, no burned out yet, i have 3 more :D
ReplyDeleteYou're excused, since you're making a survey :)
Deletei just read this, looks like the NSO is much more ready to inhale NS's take (1st perf tonight!), evident also by her posting a photo with big smile in front of the concert hall this morning :-) (td)
DeleteOkay that sounds more like it!
Deleteps- merry xmas to you! first yr i spent xmas in boston! seasonally lovely weather, no ice sculpture to report!
ReplyDeleteMerry 70 degree Christmas! Upside: a nice walk in shirtsleeves today. Downside: it's confusing the trees. Also if we don't have any snowpack in the mountains, there will be hell to pay in the spring :/
